Josephine was barely 16 when she received a full state college scholarship and from there she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology in 1989. She gained most of her experience running a Laboratory in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and recently, at Baptist Health IMG in Jacksonville. Josephine has been actively involved in community organization and her desire to help the street children led her to take a Master’s Degree in Family Planning and Child Development. She strongly believes that “knowledge is power” and combats the challenge of living and travelling overseas by mastering Arabic, Dutch and Italian. She puts her knack for languages to work as she serves in the Equipping ministry at her church teaching non-English speakers to help them adjust in their new home.
In her spare time, Josephine choreographs and teaches modern and folk dancing to help promote the Filipino Culture. She is an avid member of Filipino American Cultural Society and Bayanihan Club, which engages in the advancement of goodwill, charity, education, and other humanitarian endeavor. She feels it is important to set an example to her son and daughter- think of others and be grateful for all your blessings.
