Dr. Suny Caminero joins the team at Brown Fertility with a wealth of medical experience and passion for women’s health. She is native of New York City born to Dominican parents who moved the family to the Dominican Republic where she spent most of her childhood. Being fluent in both written and spoken Spanish, she is able to connect and serve a diverse patient population, ensuring that everyone receives personalized care and understanding.
Her medical career began as a student at the University of Connecticut, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Pre-Medicine. After graduation, she worked as an Intensive Care Nurse in Connecticut, Georgia and Michigan before starting Medical School at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2005. Dr. Caminero embarked on her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. During her residency, she displayed exceptional dedication and clinical acumen, which earned her the position of Chief Resident. Throughout her time at the University of Florida, Dr. Caminero received numerous teaching awards, showcasing her commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of medical professionals.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Caminero has actively contributed to the field of women’s health through her research endeavors. She has authored several research papers, demonstrating her commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements and providing evidence-based care to her patients.
Outside of her career, Dr. Caminero finds immense joy from her three beautiful children who always keep her busy. Her favorite pastime is experiencing the world. Traveling to learn new cultures, trying new foods, visiting new sites. Dr. Caminero is excited to bring her experience to Brown Fertility and is committed to helping individuals and couples achieve their dreams of parenthood.
