Egg Donation Program

Program Overview

Women who have diminished ovarian reserve, poor egg quality, advanced maternal age, genetic concerns or premature menopause are encouraged to explore the option of our egg donation program when trying to conceive.

At Brown Fertility, we have a warm compassionate environment with one of the largest selections of donors at over 60 to choose from. Brown Fertility’s highly successful egg donor program gives couples the opportunity to make their dream of conceiving a miracle come true. Patients initially meet with one of our providers to review their medical history to determine if moving forward as an egg donor recipient is advised.

Egg Donor Process

Simultaneous ovarian stimulation of the egg donor and uterine preparation of the recipient – injectable medications stimulate the development of multiple eggs from the donor, while a combination of injectable and oral medications prepare the recipient’s endometrium for the implantation of embryos.

  • Egg retrieval from the egg donor – A simple, ultrasound-guided, minimally invasive procedure is used to retrieve the eggs from the ovaries. This procedure is performed under conscious sedation (twilight sleep), transvaginally with a needle. There are NO INCISIONS in this outpatient procedure.
  • Fertilization of the eggs – with the recipient partner’s sperm (or donor sperm) in-vitro (in the laboratory), by insemination, or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
  • Embryo transfer- of the embryos into the recipient. Cryopreservation (freezing) – of any remaining, good-quality embryos, when possible.

“Throughout our journey to conceive, Dr. Brown became so much more than our reproductive endocrinologist. He became our therapist, problem-solver, cheerleader, and—most importantly—our friend.”Greg & Dana
